고흥 금탑사 극락전

고흥 금탑사 극락전(高興 金塔寺 極樂殿)은 대한민국 전라남도 고흥군 포두면에 있는 금탑사에 있는 건축물입니다. 1985년 2월 25일에 전라남도 유형문화재 제102호로 지정되었습니다.
금탑사:

• 전라남도 고흥군 포두면 천등산 중턱에 위치한 사찰입니다.
• 원효대사가 창건했다고 전해지지만 확실한 근거는 없습니다.
• 정유재란 때 불탄 것을 1603년에 중건했다가 1692년에 다시 불에 타 극락전만 남았다고 합니다.
• 현재 건물로는 극락전, 산신각, 범종각, 일주문, 요사채 등이 있습니다.

극락전:

• 모든 중생을 구제한다는 아미타불을 모시는 법당입니다.
• 정면 3칸, 측면 2칸(또는 3칸)의 팔작지붕을 한 다포계 양식의 건물입니다.
• 정면의 어칸은 공간포 2조, 협칸은 공간포 1조를 배치하였으며, 어칸 좌우의 기둥에 용두가 달려 있습니다.
• 조선 후기 건축 양식을 보여줍니다.
• 내부에는 산신(the Mountain Spirit)을 묘사한 "Assembly of Spirits" 그림이 있는데, 산신이 도교의 "불멸의 복숭아"를 들고 있는 매우 드문 특징을 가지고 있습니다.

• The central bay on the front has 2 space brackets, the side bays have 1 space bracket, and the pillars on either side of the central bay have dragon heads.
• It displays the architectural style of the late Joseon Dynasty.
• Inside, there is a painting called "Assembly of Spirits" depicting Sanshin (the Mountain Spirit), which has the very rare feature of Sanshin holding a Daoist "peach of immortality."
